Eco Film X-3

Putting film used in plasma TVs on windows
Eco film X-3 is a heat-insulating, electromagnetic wave suppressing film used on the surface of plasma TVs. Using sputter deposition method, the reflective multi-layer film for windows provides solar heat-ray shielding and its demand has been increasing since the great earthquake and can now be found in many homes.

Eco Film X-3 Features
- High transparency with visible light penetration rate of 74%
- Greatly reduces heat from the sun by shutting out 87% of infrared rays
- Greatly improves air-conditioning efficiency
- Shuts out 99% of UV rays that causes spots and freckles, and discoloring
- Low heat-absorption rate making it suitable for most kinds of windows
- Prevents broken glass from scattering during earthquake and other disasters
- Blocks harmful electromagnetic waves from entering and prevents confidential information from leaking
* Mobile phone waves can transmit without problems

Making use of metal’s reflective property to create a cool summer and warm winter
The metallic layer reflects off light of specific wavelengths (infrared) and mitigates rise in room temperature in the summer. Due to its reflective property, temperature rise from radiation heat is greatly reduced. It provides ample visible light penetration and does not place burden on interior lighting costs. In the winter, radiation heat in the room is reflected inward and prevents heat from escaping. The X-3 is well-balanced and provides a comfortable living environment.
The principle of energy saving: Penetration rate and solar energy
Eco Film X-3 test

Tests carried out on windows with and without Eco Film X-3 during the hottest time of the day showed an average temperature difference of 13.2 degree Celsius.
Test Environment
Subject: AGC high-transparency heat-insulation film X-3
Duration: August 23 to September 5, 2014
Conditions: Air-conditioning temperature set as constant; temperature measured at window in the same room on 2-3F
Venue: NTT Logisco Chiba Ichikawa Center Building D
Measuring equipment: Watch Logger * made by Taisei E&L
Method: Measuring equipment is placed on 8 cm thick polystyrene foam at the bottom of window sash 15 cm away from south-facing windows

Comparison with third-party products

When tested against similar products by other companies, Eco Film X-3 outperformed by -6.4 degree Celsius temperature difference thereby proving its effectiveness in heat-insulation.
6.4 degree Celsius difference
Effective against dew condensation, too!

Dew condensation at 1pm after wiping off at 11am
(X-3 applied to left side; glass only on right side; room temperature at 14 degree Celsius; external temperature at 1.7 degree Celsius)
Tests carried out on windows with and without Eco Film X-3 for dew condensation showed that water droplets on glass surface with X-3 are much smaller.
